Various Russian publications and materials made ca. 1865-1876 by Ivan Petroff or Martin Klinkofstrom for Hubert Howe Bancroft concerning Russian activity on the Pacific Coast of North America. Each volume has been cataloged separately and contains a table of contents, and an extensive collection key has been prepared under separate call number by Wendell H. Oswalt (BANC MSS P-K 232).

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
